and a Syrah from Spain. Did you know that Iberian probably came from the Ebro
River and that the old Greeks referred to it as Hiberia. Maybe we’re all

I’ve found the best way to keep my missus from eating crap during her pregnancy is to keep healthy ready-made snacks on hand, which is why I’ve been on a tart run lately. No style designation so I had to stare at the malt, hop and yeast listings to figure out what sort of a beast it was. That’s proper geek-friendly labelling that is. I’ve been doing a spot of redecorating on the site. What do you think? The new template is lighter and easier on the eyes, I hope. I’ll probably continue moving things around and adjusting the colours for a while yet.
The bigger change is the name of the website. It’s now Liquid Irish, rather than Irish Whiskey Notes. Twitter forced me to accept that the old name was too long. It wasn’t all that catchy either.  Continue reading »

I was scrolling through my Instagram feed last week and saw a photo from New York City of bunches of rhubarb piled high at a farmers’ market. ‘Rhubarb is at the Greenmarket!’ the caption read. ‘Just one stall is selling it. Get here quick before it sells out.’ Commenters on the photo were rushing over to get some, with one eventually saying, ‘I got the last bunch!’

I have always had a great love for all types of cheeses. I have memories of being out for dinner, with my parents, starting from when I was as young as seven, and when given the option between dessert or a cheeseboard, the chessboard would always be my preferred choice.
